Recently, we worked collaboratively with our like-minded friends at Butchbaby & Co to create a new, more inclusive term to describe the period during pregnancy and shortly after childbirth. Our new word, Alternity, represents a category in its own right and reflects the courage, individuality, creativity and dignity of masculine pregnancy.
In essence, we are following the advice of our own Butch Basix tag line 'define it for yourself' to further a movement towards greater freedom of expression.
Butch Basix is the first company ever to offer an "Alternity" retail section dedicated to providing masculine of center pregnancy gear, wear, accessories, personal care products and resources in one place.
The Alternitypage contains several place holders for various upcoming Butch Basix products and Butchbaby & Co's future lineof "the first ever alternity wear for pregnant masculine, transgender, and queer individuals." This new section also includes a few cross-over items from other categories of our store as well as a link to our growing list of Alternity resources. This is only the beginning!
Providing alternatives to the limits of existing pregnancy wear and gear has always been part of Butch Basix's original vision. Given the dearth of options, we've been stymied in our efforts... UNTIL NOW.
